Step-By-Step Article Marketing Pt1

Posted by: Kate

Hello and welcome to the first part of our series on Article Marketing. Now, I have a confession to make here – whilst I know that article marketing works to increase traffic and boost sales, it’s an area that I haven’t given much attention to. This series aims to change all of that and, in the process, provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to make a start with article marketing.

Like anything else to do with internet marketing, you could go out now and spend as much money as you have on a course or a mentor who will guide you through the process. If you’re absolutely 100% sure that article marketing is something that you’ll be using to promote your site, then this might not be a bad idea.

But if, like me, you just want to learn enough to be able to do the basics before you make any major decisions, this series is a great place to start.

As with every series that we write, we’ll be covering the process LIVE so that you can follow the whole thing through and apply what we’re showing you immediately.

Here’s some of what we’ll be covering:

  1. How article marketing can boost traffic and sales;
  2. What makes a great article;
  3. The importance of the resource box;
  4. Auto-submission versus doing it yourself;
  5. The best article directories;
  6. Other places to submit your articles to.

Jakki, as always, will be looking at producing some great videos to make the process even easier for you to follow.

Every time I post a new step in the series, I’ll announce it in our newsletter, Savvy. If you want to sign up for this so that you don’t miss out on anything, you can sign up here.

Do Your Headlines Have Pulling Power?

Posted by: Kate

Whether you’re writing a blog post, an ebook or an article, creating an attention-grabbing headline is THE most important part of it. If it doesn’t grab the readers’ interest, they won’t bother to read on, no matter how good the content is.

So, how do you know what is a good headline?

I wrote a short post on this subject a while ago and you can read
it here.

There’s also a free tool on the Advanced Marketing Institutes
website  that will analyse your headline to determine the
Emotional Marketing Value (EMV) score. What this means is how
well your headline connects to the emotions – the higher the
score, the better.

I gave it a go with the headline for our newsletter. Initially,
I was going to use ‘What’s Clouding Your Vision?’ but it came
back with an embarassing 0% EMV score! So I had a little think
and came up with ‘Clutter Clearing Creates Clarity’ which
scored a much healthier 50%.

Why not give it a go and see how well you score?

Adding the book image and download link-Easy Ebooks Pt9

Posted by: Jakki

This tutorial assumes you are working with Wordpress but you can just as easily add the html code to a static website.

From your wordpress dashboard, under the Appearance menu, choose Widgets. Drag and drop a text widget into whichever sidebar you want it to appear in.

Give the widget a name. In this example I have used “Get Your Free Ebook, Click Image Below” and then in the text box below I have pasted the code from E-Junkie.

Get Your Free ebook image

Now we need to change the code slightly so that the image source is not the add to cart.gif but the image we have had made for our ebook:

Image 1 shows which code we want to change:

Image 2 shows the code after we have changed it:

You will need to upload the image to your server. If you don’t know how to do that
we have a free video on how to do it which you can view by clicking the link below:

Once you have done that the image will show up on your blog and your website visitors can click on the book and download it.

With all the talk about the power of using social media to get traffic, make sales, etc. it can all get very overwhelming for those just starting out in internet marketing.

Mark Shaw has written a great article about what you should be Twittering about and, as you’ll see, it’s really very simple.
